In 2011 over 230,000 people attended the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and 2012 promises to be bigger and better as 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button and 2008 champion Lewis Hamilton participate in their home GP. Having recently won the right to stage the British GP for the next 17 years, Silverstone is improving the facilities at the track to make sure the oldest Formula One race is also the best.
For the 2012 British GP Pillow is running a fantastic tour to all three days of the GP. We will pick you up from central London on Friday 6 July 2012 and drive you to Silverstone in time to watch the second practice session that afternoon. You will then be able to watch the qualifying on Saturday and finally the race itself on Sunday and post race “meet the drivers & concert”, before we bring you back to central London first thing on Monday (9 July 2012) morning.
Instead of staying in a hotel 20 miles away from Silverstone, and spending hours each day travelling to and from the track and sitting in traffic jams, we camp in the picturesque setting of Litchlake Farm, the closest campsite to the main entrance of Silverstone Race course. We offer the best value cheap budget accommodation at the closest campsite to Silverstone F1 GP track. Don’t worry about entertainment at night, the campsite is also home to the Grand Prix village with its many stalls and food outlets, we are also a few minutes walk away from the nightly entertainment and funfair at the Silverstone main gate, so we really are central to everything! Also on the last night, there is a fantastic meet the drivers concert, which normally includes Eddie Jordan’s band for you to enjoy. We provide pre-erected tents, with air beds and we provide a breakfast each morning. All you have to do is bring your own pillow and sleeping bag; we take care of everything else, the campsite we use has good toilet and shower facilities. F1 Camping is a great experience, and its our job to make it easy for you!
For the race itself, you need to buy your own entry tickets, and we recommend buying them directly from Silverstone at
