This amazing 19 Day tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, and includes an 13 day adventurous walking along one of the worlds classic treks. Once you start walking, you will experience a range of scenery from lush forests, paddy fields, alpine scenery to a high altitude desert above the clouds. This trek is magnificent, covering two different river valleys and encircling the Annapurna Massif, rises to a maximum altitude of 5,416 meters on the Thorung La pass. During the 228km trek there will be long days of walking (6-10 hours a day) and we will stay in Tea Houses along the route.

Day One – Kathmandu (D)
Make your own way to Kathmandu International airport, where we will meet you in airport arrivals and transfer you to your 4 star central Kathmandu hotel. The rest of the day is free until this evening where you enjoy a welcome dinner at a leading Kathmandu restaurant, a great opportunity to meet the other passengers on your trek.
Day Two – Kathmandu (B)
After breakfast at the hotel we spend the morning on a guided sight-seeing tour of old Kathmandu We will of course visit the Royal Palace in Durbar Square and explore the alleys, temples and shrines of this ancient city. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure, so you can enjoy strolling around and soaking up the atmosphere of this history rich capital city, or maybe jump into a taxi and visit Pashupatinath temple.
Day Three – Kathmandu to Lukla and start Trek (B)
After an early breakfast at your hotel we drive west towards Pokhara and will arrive in Buldule with time for you to explore.
Day Four to Fourteen – Trekking (B) (L) (D)
For the first few days, we walk through lowland paddies and farms crossing many suspension bridges. We will see a number of different tribes, Tibetan traders, donkey trains and farmers tending their crops. On day seven we will trek for 8 to 9 hours and arrive at the village of Chame at an altitude of 2,713 meters.
After Chame, the forests become oak, pine and birch, the crops potato, wheat and corn, and the people predominantly Tibetan and Buddhist in origin. We will trek upwards past stone villages like Pisang where you will see prayer flags and possibly snow for the first time. On day ten we will have a rest day at the important trading village of Manang (3,351 meters) where the landscape becomes semi-desolate steep, bare hillsides.
We continue to trek uphill, experiencing even more barren terrain where water is often frozen while flowing down the cliff faces. On day eleven we spend the night at our highest camp (Churi Ledar 4,250 meters) which is the starting point for our ascent of the pass. After an early start (before sunrise) we will have the tough trek to the summit of Thorung La pass (5,416 meters) and see the magnificent view, and then start the descent on the Western side.
On day 14 we will trek down into the deepest river valley in the world (Kali Gandaki) to Jomson where we will start to feel we are back in the real world. Jomsom is the largest town we have seen for a while (it even has a post office so you can send your postcards home!). We will continue to walk down the valley through some beautiful, prosperous villages, the landscape seeming to get greener around each corner. The trek will end this evening.
Please Note, this is a hard adventurous trek. The total distance is 228km, and you will be walking from 6 to 10 hours each day. You will trek to an altitude of 5,416 meters so a good level of physical fitness is required. Porters will carry your luggage but you will have to carry a day pack with your water, camera etc.
Day Fifteen – Pokhara (B) (L) (D)
Today we will drive to Pokhara, but on route we will stop and visit Dhaulagiri Ice Fall, which still requires a good walk to visit the ice falls. Tonight we will stay in the relative luxury of a 2 start hotel in central Pokhara.
Day Sixteen – Pokhara (B)
You have a free day in Pokhara to shop and explore. This evening the group goes out in Pokhara to celebrate the
Day Seventeen – Fly to Kathmandu (B)
Today you fly to Kathmandu, and once we have transferred you to your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy.
Day Eighteen – Free Day in Kathmandu (B)
Free day in Kathmandu.
Day Nineteen – End of tour (B)
After breakfast in your hotel the tour terminates. We will transfer you from your hotel to the airport, or you can continue with your travels independently.
Please Note: We have deliberately left day 18 free to allow for any delays in getting back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Please do not book your return flight home on day 18.
